<p>Another way to handle this is to prepare yourself before you encounter any temptation. Drink lots of water, snack on low calorie foods that fill you up. They did a study on some mice. One group was given x number of calories, at one time during the day. The other group was given the same amount of mouse food, but spread out. Guess what happened? Group one got fat, group two didn&#8217;t.</p>
<p>So the first step is to simply look at the food you normally eat during the course of a day, and just stretch it out. If you eat three meals, shoot for six. If you eat two big ones, like most people do, shoot for some snacks in between. The cool thing about this is you don&#8217;t need to change what you eat, only when you eat.</p>
<p>What happens to most people when they do this is that they find themselves eating less and less. By eating more often, you are hungry a lot less, and less prone to overeat. Did I mention you can eat the same foods you already eat?</p>
<p>The other tip I&#8217;d like to give you is to do some simple, body weight exercises first thing in the morning. And I don&#8217;t mean a thousand push ups and a thousand sit ups. Maybe five of each is all you can do. No problem. The important thing is that you do something in the morning when you wake up. Even if it is only for a couple of minutes. This will train your body to start burning energy right from the moment you get out of bed.</p>

<p>Compared to even a few years ago, we have it pretty easy. Because of technological advances, we don&#8217;t need to work nearly as hard as people before us. Most us can earn a decent living without breaking a sweat. So problem number one is that in our daily lives, we aren&#8217;t getting enough physical activity.</p>
<p>The second thing that is happening is that food production centers are becoming more centralized. Food is being more and more mass produced, and shipped further and further. This requires many more additives and chemicals to preserver the food for longer, and keep it longer on store shelves. Unfortunately, this isn&#8217;t very healthy for us, the end consumer.</p>
<p>The harsh truth is that this will only get worse as we get more technologically advanced. In order to lose weight and keep it off, we must make a conscious choice to do so. And the two things we absolutely must do, in some measure, is to eat healthier, and to figure out a way to increase our physical activity.</p>
<p>Of course, this doesn&#8217;t mean giving up everything except oatmeal, and spending hours on the treadmill every night. All it means is to cut down just a little bit on the junk food, and add in just a little bit of extra physical activity. The goal is long term health, and weight loss.</p>
